Free Software
Free Windows based software called the Organiser is available to help administer the club.

This easy to use Organiser software enables coordinators to:
Generate a Pupil Order Form in local currency
Enter orders by class and pupil
• Automatically calculate order lines and totals
• Print a clear Master Order Form
• Print orders by class and pupil if required
• Prepare and send the order via email

The software can be downloaded here or can be supplied on CD ROM with each issue and provides all the benefits of on-line ordering. Many of our book club coordinators who did not regard themselves as computer literate have found the software easy to master and time-saving.This simple little program receives much praise:

"....thanks for making the book ordering so easy to manage and handle.
It's so easy to add the kids on to the computer and calculate the books without getting stressed."

Install Instructions

If you choose Run, the software will download the setup.exe file and start installing it in a folder called Organiser or if you Save the setup.exe file then double click on the file to start installing it. During installation you will be presented with a window headed ‘Select Components’ and a tick box option for Pupil Database - if you have entered an order from a previous issue and wish to retain the class and pupil lists which you have created,
leave the Pupil Database box unticked. If this is the first time you have installed the software, or if you are creating a new Organiser folder, then tick the box and it will then enable you to enter your class and pupil data.

Click on
Start, Programs, Organiser and then on the Organiser icon to open the software. The comprehensive Help file can be accessed from the ? button at the top of the screen and can answer most queries and there are useful hint lines at the bottom of the screen. For Vista users please see the stand-alone version called 'CHM Help' in your Organiser folder.

For schools in the Euro Zone your order can be prepared in Euros and to match the prices in the Summer 2010 catalogues you will need to use a conversion rate (which includes postage) of
1.40 Euros to the Pound (GBP) and round to the nearest .10. If you have selected Euros as the currency then both the Master Order Form from the Organiser and the email Master Order Form will appear in Euros, for all other currencies the Master Order Form will appear in GBP. The calculation of free books continues to be done in GBP.

Important note about sending your Summer issue order via email.  For this issue it will be necessary to send your order file as an attachment to an email and not via your browser.  In the Master Order Form window please follow the usual process of preparing an email order, click on the Email icon and your order will display in your browser and create the email order file.  Close the browser, prepare an email to us and attach the file XXSUM10...XML which is located in your Organiser folder.
